Lithuanian Business Confederation Congress

Lord David Evans and Caroline Minshell were honoured to give a keynote speech on the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to trade and economic growth at the Lithuanian Business Confederation Congress at Vilnius University.

Speaking shortly before Lithuania's Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius delivered his address, Lord Evans drew upon his own experience as a member of the House of Lords Select Committee on SMEs, and highlighted the need for government to give its support and encouragement to such businesses. He identified high-tech sectors – ranging from internet and communications technologies to laser technology and medical research – as key areas in which extensive prospects exist for Lithuania, and also highlighted cyber security as an immediate and vital area presenting business opportunities.
