Senate Publishing’s Technology Editor attends Future of Smart Cities conference

Simon Michell, Technology and Security Editor at Senate Publishing, attended the Future of Smart Cities conference at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Tuesday 19 April. The conference, organised by Salford University’s ONECPD training company, was an opportunity to hear about the latest developments in the Smart City and Internet of Things (IoT) sector with key note speakers such as Dan Byles, Chairman of SmarterUK, as well as technology experts from a diverse range of organisations including Cisco, Ordnance Survey and SSE Enterprise.

The conference included a number of seminars highlighting Smart City trends and opportunities. David Cuckow from Hypercat led a seminar on Smart Cities Innovation through Collaboration, Standards and Best Practice. Senate Publishing and Hypercat are working together to produce a Smart Cities publication to be launched at the Hypercat Summit in June 2016 at the Royal Festival Hall.
